Accessibility

Our aim

This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Every colour pairing used for text was measured against its background rather than estimated, all interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard with a visible focus indicator, and a pause control exists for the one moving element (the hero photo sequence) alongside motion being reduced automatically for visitors whose system requests it.

Known gaps

The coverage map is decorative and its state outlines are not individually navigable; the same coverage information is available as text beside it and in full on the coverage page. If you find something that does not work with your assistive technology, we want to hear about it. General background on accessibility law is available from ADA.gov, though ADA conformance beyond the technical standard above is a legal determination we are not making here.
